Black Men, Faith, and Mental Health

This presentation focused on considering the Health Disparities, and barriers in Black Men receiving Mental Health Treatment. Historical, Cultural, Societal Challenges are discussed as well. The Role that Faith plays in ones engagement in their own wellness. Is reviewed. In addition, Healthy Tools, and Tips for Black Men to address their overall health while incorporating “Faith” is explored.

Race Base Trauma, Trauma Porn, and the Black Community

This Presentation will take a closer look at Trauma as it pertains to particular variables and Race-Based Trauma in BIPOC individuals. The impact of continual visual, and auditory trauma exposure will be explored. In addition tools, and techniques for coping with, and limiting the effects of trauma will be discussed.

Understanding and Navigating Depression

This Presentation will explore the etiology, and prevalence of depression in society today. Signs and symptoms of depression will be reviewed, and discussed. Cognitive Behavioral. Techniques and Pharmacological interventions will be discussed..

This presentation will consider past, present, and future implications of the covid 19 pandemic. Issues related to Trauma, Grief/Loss, Anxiety, Anger, and Conflict will be discussed. The Pathway forward as well considering the potential Mental Health Pandemic will be discussed.

Healthy communication and Conflict Resolution

This Presentation will give attention to the 4 types of communication styles/patterns, the origins, and implications connected to them. Assertiveness Communication, and Training will be implemented as well. The utilization of I-message communication as opposed to “You” message communication will be reviewed. In addition , different types of conflicts will be discussed, and considered. Healthy tools and mechanisms for resolving those conflicts will be mentioned.
